The EU imports most of the oil and more than half of all the gas it consumes, a fact that makes the Union vulnerable to disruptions in supplies and changes in energy prices. Europe's political leaders are therefore focused on enhancing the EU's energy diplomacy – its strategic relationships with supplier countries – in order to boost our collective energy security.
