Tonn Energy, a joint venture formed between Vattenfall and Irish wave farm development firm Wavebob, will carry out a wave power project in northeastern Ireland. The Irish Government, through its Investment and Development Agency, IDA Ireland, is supporting the investment. With a strong ocean wave resource, Ireland has become a focal point for the development of commercial ocean wave energy. Presently Tonn Energy is involved in the application process for the permissions needed.
